About this Episode:

As election day approaches, the Cornell Policy Review is proud to launch its first Podcast of the semester, in collaboration with Cornell’s Women in Public Policy to spotlight one of New York’s pivotal ballot initiatives:

Proposition 1. This proposal seeks to embed equal rights protections in the state constitution, marking a significant stride towards advancing social equity for all New Yorkers. Ava Lagressa and Kristin Condon, Co-presidents of Women in Public Policy, join the conversation alongside special guest Melanie D’Arrigo, who provides expert insights into the potential impact of this historic ballot initiative.

Melanie D’Arrigo, a native New Yorker, mother of three, and former congressional candidate, currently serves as the Legislative Vice President for the New York State National Organization for Women. In this role, she actively leads the grassroots efforts of the women’s movement in New York.
